Why I Hate School But I Love Education
Reflection -after making story board-
<How the process is going. Why did you choose the type of production from the list below? How and why did you choose the media you used for your production? What has been difficult so far? What role have you taken on in your group? What do you think will be difficult in for the next steps? How will you address those difficulties? What do you look forward to?>
The reason why I chose this type of production is that I think it's goog for me to study English. Before recording the video, I have to understand the meaning what the speaker want to tell me. Also I should understand each sentences meaning because of making natural movie. It took a lot of times to draw story board, but I think that it is going to work smoothly and usefully for our working. We want to unify all of the movie's shots, so we will try to use only whiteboard and pens. There is a application that we take a pictures in succession naturaly, so we'll use it. There are scenes that it's difficult for us to draw some pictures like famous peoples face, so we will make some slides by keynote and take screen shots.
The story is little bit difficult and there is no idea how to draw pictures easily, so it was difficult to make story board so far. But we red the subtitles of the original movie and we could understand what the speaker want to convey. I think that there is not difficult to record the videos because we drow story boards closely, but it's hard to record frame-by-frame videos.

Reflection -before analizing survey for our results-
<Process Reflection Material: What did you use to create my video? Why? How? Review?
Infrastructure: Design of your group/ schedule/ updates/ communication. How? Why? For the Future? Message to the viewer.>
As I said before, we wanted to unify all of the movie's shots, so we tried to use only whiteboard and pens. There is a application that we take a pictures in succession naturaly. We took many videos each speaking sections and tried to make audiences understand. Sometimes it was difficult for us to draw some pictures like famous peoples face, then we make some slides by keynote and took screen shots.
After taking some videos, we connected with each other. Although the original movie's time is over 6 minutes, we took not so much videos. That's why it was difficult to make a new video. If we took more videos with each sentences, we could edit it more easily. Alos it was difficult to connect with the original movie's voice and our videos. We took videos without concerning how speaker talking. Speake sometimes spoke slowly or fastly, so we had to take videos and edit videos at the same times.
My group took much times in drawing story boards. It was easy to take videos because of that, but there was not so much time to take many frame-by-frame recordings. But we prepared for the recording beforehand, so it was easy to take videos. That's good point of us. I think there are differences betweed talking only video and talking and pictures video. At the talking and pictures video, people whoes mother language is not the same with the video can understand the contents easily. So I want them to watch this video and I hope that this video help them to study foreign language.
Survey Analysis
Reflection -after the survey-
Backward-Looking:
・ Have you done a similar kind of work in the past (earlier in the year or in a previous grade; in school or out of school)?
No, I had never done like this work. When I saw the work of last year's, I thought that this work was fun and challenging. Other works options were created the videos from the beginning and they just copy, but our group's work was different from that. We had to understand the contents and make video ourselves. It was hard but I could experience a good work.
・ What problems did you encounter while you were working on this piece? How did you solve them?
The story was very difficult for me to understand and I thought that the audiences would feel difficult to understand. So we had to express the story by using the way which everyone can understand easily. In the results of survey, some audiences say that it was difficult to understand, so we couldn't supplement that point so much. Thinking about that was difficult and a problem.
・ What resources did you use while working on this piece? Which ones were especially helpful? Which ones would you use again?
At first, we decided using only white board and pens. Then we took the pictures by an application which we can take pictures in succession naturaly. I think that it's difficult to understand the still pictures. There are some comments that it was easy to understand the scene that Beckham kicks a soccer ball. The scene have some natural movings, so I think that people could understand easily. That's why I would like to use this tool again.
Inward-Looking:
・ What did/do you find frustrating about it?
This talking was difficult for our group to understand, so we couldn't express some scenes clearly. In the survey's answer, some audiences said that it ws difficult to understand. The scene that I thought difficult to understand and the scene that audiences thought difficult are same. So I feel frustrating that I couldn't express the scene clearly.
・ What did you learn about yourself as you worked on this piece?
From this piece, I learned that speed of showing the pictures are important. In the survey's answer, audiences said that the scene that many people's pictures are showd made them confuse. In the scene, many pictures appear so quickly because speaking speed ia so fast. We thought there is tha way that we add each picture in one screen at the same time with speaking. Then we did that, but it made them confuse. So I had to think about how to explain the contents clearly and easily.
・ What did you learn about yourself as you worked on this piece?
I learned that drawing is important for audiences to understand the content. In the survey, some people said that the content is difficult and they couldn't listen to some parts of the talking. But 97.4% people said that the pictures are helpful to understand. That's why drawing have a important role to understand the content.
Outward-Looking:
・ If you were the teacher, what comments would you make about this piece?
The drawing s are simple and I could understand soon what you want to express. Sometimes you wrote the simple words and pictures. Speaking speed is little fast, so it's difficult to understand the most important point. But you use simple way and express the important point, it make audiences understangings I think.
・ What do your classmates particularly notice about your piece when they look at it?
We ask a question "Which scene was the most helpful?" and answered that they could understand education is the key. We emphasize that education is the key by drawing a picture and a word. The main point of this movie is about that, so the way was good.
・ In what ways did your work meet the standards for this assignment?
I think that the way which we draw many pictures and made some scenes meet standards for this assignment. Almost all of our video is made by our drawings. Pictures have a important role for audiences to understand the content, so we tried to draw clearly. The ways were difficult and hard for us, but we did our best.
Forward-Looking:
・ What would you change if you had a chance to do this piece over again?
I want to change the speed of adding the pictures. We made a animation to spoken words, so some scenes change the pictures too fast.
・ What's the one thing that you have seen in your classmates' work or process that you would like to try in your next piece?
I would like to try to make a video recreation. They copy almost all of the dance and accessories. I enjoyed watching the video, so I want to try it.
・ What's one goal you would like to set for yourself for next time?
I would like to think about audiences and make a video. During the work, I tried to take some scenes to spoken words, so I didn't think about looks and audiences so much. That's why some people said that it is difficult to see all of the drawing. It's quite meaningless, so I have to look my work objectively next time.
